Family Photos 2015

Our ward does a service auction in the spring to raise money for the annual girls' and boys' camps. This year, our friend CheyAnne Nielson donated a family photo shoot to the auction, and we won it! We took our photos at the Happy Jack recreation area, and there's a whole funny story about how we locked our keys in the car, but... it's not as cool as these awesome photos!

I can't even tell you how excited I am to finally have photos of the 5 of us!

My handsome little guy is not so little anymore!

His attitude about family photos has greatly improved.

Our Meema!

I love this guy.

The most accurate representation of our family ever.

Family Photos 2014

This year for our family photos we drove down to Fort Collins and met our friend Katie Esquivel on the Oval at CSU. That's where Ryan and I did our engagement photos 6+ years ago, so it was neat to go back with our boys and do it again. I was prepared this year with an entire bag of gummi bears with which to bribe Benjy, which mostly worked. He's nowhere near the ham that his big brother is, but at least he wasn't screaming and crying!
Here are some of our favorites.

Yay cute boys!

I don't remember what Ryan did to make him laugh like this, but it looks great!

Sam kept begging Katie to take pictures of him doing different things. I think at one point Katie bribed him to stay out of photos of me and Ryan by telling him she'd take more pictures of him!

Ben loves his daddy.

Still in love :0)

Family Photos 2013

Our family photos from our first year in Laramie could not have been better. My amazing friend Julia, one half of the couple who are Studio Despain, was so patient with our kids--especially Benjy, who was not at all into getting his picture taken. In fact, he spent most of the photo shoot looking like this:

Which made us feel like this:

And somehow, Julia was able to capture him like this:

Sam is a ham (rim shot!), so it was easy to get great pictures of him cheesing it up.

Even Ryan and I managed to get a nice photo together.

Here are some of the other ones I loved.

Ryan said croquet sticks were "preppy", I said they were cute. I think we were both right.

I really love this picture of Ryan

Zombies!

Benjy especially hated having to sit with Sammy, so we were really lucky to get this picture!

As a final note, here are my tips for getting kids to cooperate for family photos. Let them get used to the photographer for a few minutes before you start expecting them to pose. I didn't think Ben would have a problem with Julia because he sees her every week at church, but he was still leery of her once she had a camera in front of her face. And finally, bring a bribe. Once I pulled out the gummy bears, Ben was much more willing to smile!

New Family Photos

We had our family photos taken one last time in SLC before we left. The great Amanda Penton kindly obliged by meeting us at Wheeler Farms one morning and steering us around the charming farmyard. We are so excited to finally have some photos of our family of FOUR! Here are some of our favorites:

Yes, this "b" got chewed on

For some reason, we didn't have a letter K... so I got the chair for my solo photo

Family Photos

Every year, usually around our anniversary, we have our family photos taken. I was way too sick in July to even think about having my picture taken, so we postponed it to fall this year. Our friend Amanda Penton took our pictures this year, and we are so grateful to her for doing such an amazing job. She got some great shots of squirrely Sammy, and really captured the fall colors and the mood we were going for.
We now have four sets of "family photos", and I thought I'd post a little nostalgia on here as well as our new pictures.
